Three Western Michigan University students, Camille Day, Hana Holmgren, and Rozlin Opolka, worked in the KBAC studio to produce the limited-edition handmade book VALLEYFOLK. This book consists of eleven poems by young local writers with original linocut prints. Day, Holmgren, and Opolka compiled and edited the poems and designed the book, including making handmade paper for the cover and inserts, hand-setting the poems using lead type, printing the text and images on a Vandercook press, and hand-binding the edition. Ten copies were hard bound with Coptic covers and the remaining 25 copies have soft covers. VALLEYFOLK was funded by a Michigan Council for the Arts and Cultural Affairs, New Leaders Grant.
